On Wednesday May 23, two hundred and sixty eight students were welcomed into the Bergen County Academies as students of the Class of 2016. The keynote speaker was Megan Meehan Class of 2002, Systems Engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Megan shared her experiences at the Academy with the freshmen and hoped that they would realize that the sky isn’t truly the limit as they began their years at the Academy. Principal Davis asked the freshmen to believe that the Induction is the beginning of their opportunity to climb aboard and begin their academy mission in taking the lead, setting themselves apart, taking chances, continuing to grow and dreaming big. Students were entertained by an excerpt from the Spring musical “The King and I”; they took the district’s Anti-Bullying pledge. The ceremony ended with a reception in the gymnasium.
