Connected Teachers Responder Program
The Paramus Campus of Bergen County Technical Schools has launched a pilot test of the Connected Teachers Responder Program. Meetings were held with faculty and staff to discuss the program and receive information and instruction. The Program is designed to enhance school safety by providing a communications device known as the “Safety Badge” to school administrators, faculty, and staff members. The Badge enables immediate connection to in-house personnel as well as police, fire, and emergency first responders. We believe the immediate access to enhanced communication provided teachers/staff wearing the Safety Badge will prevent/mitigate disruptions in the classroom/school, expedite response time both within the school and with local/county first responders, and assist with expediting conflict resolutions. Additionally, the visibility of the Badge being worn by teachers/staff will contribute toward creating a climate of confidence for school personnel as well as parents, students, and community members.
