"The emerging discipline of blending the culinary arts and the science of food", Culinology® is becoming recognized and valued disciplines that will significantly impact food research and development in the global market. Culinology is a trademark of the Research Chefs Association (RCA).   The Research Chef is first a chef, a food focused individual, dedicated to producing the finest possible combination of ingredients to achieve palate pleasing results whether personally preparing the product for a customer they know or one they will never know. The Research Chef is also a researcher who uses scientific methods and knowledge to insure their creativity can be enjoyed far beyond the confines of their kitchen or laboratory.  Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro is the only high school in the United States to offer a Culinology® program.  This program offers strong partnerships with corporations such as Pepsi and institutes of higher learning like Rutgers to provide our students with unique hands on experience as they complete their course work.  Students enrolled in this program are offered two tracts of study one that has a stronger food science focus and the other with more culinary science.
