Young Science Achievers
Congratulations to Brigid Blakeslee for winning the second place medal and a $750 cash award in the 2007 Young Science Achievers Program.

Students in the program gain experience in formulating budgets, writing formal proposals, and public speaking. They present a poster session at the end of the year and receive awards for well-written reports. By providing a positive, supportive, and successful experience in science, this program hopes to influence the students to choose careers in science and technology.

The Young Science Achievers Program® is a nonprofit organization that evolved from the Bell Labs Science Grant Program that was started in 1988. The mission then and the mission now is to inspire and encourage groups underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math to pursue careers in these fields. This program provides high school students with resources, technical support, and mentoring to help students succeed in executing a science project.
