Welcome to the Bergen Academies

In its short history, the Academy has emerged as a powerful force and leader in school reform.  Our history can best be described as one in the making because, as histories go, the Bergen County Academies is young. However, since accepting its first class in August, 1992, Bergen County's magnet high school of choice has emerged as a powerful force in educational reform.

BCA Principals Message

It may be winter out, but inside the Academy's walls, the heat is on! It was great to see so many of you at the January PPO meeting, especially on the occasion of summer arriving at BCA - in a manner of speaking. The upstairs dining hall was bursting at the seams with the hustle and bustle of information gathering and brochure collecting regarding the many summertime opportunities that exist for your children.

Linoleum Block Contest

Jae Yon (Yuri) Ku, a Bergen County Academies student, has received a cash award and Honorable Mention in the Dick Blick National Linoleum Block Print Contest.

Yuri's self portrait, printed black ink on white paper, was one of the 15 prints chosen from 1,574 entries! Yuri's strong composition, design and technique are clearly evident in this piece which is on display in the Bergen Academies Art Gallery in Studio 139.

FBLA States Competition

Bergen County Academies students "Tuned Into Success" at the Future Business Leaders of America(FBLA) 2010 States competition, March 10th - 12th, in Edison at the Raritan Convention Center. FBLA is affiliated with Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and is the largest and oldest business career student organization in the world.

Of the 22 students attending FBLA,12 students placed first and second and will be advancing to Nationals being held in Tennessee in July. BCA students displayed their competitive spirit and maturity while participating in numerous events and workshops throughout the week.
