Essential Skills and the Skills Elective at ATHS
Applied Technology High School (ATHS) is a full-time, four-year high school located on the Paramus campus of Bergen Community College (BCC). The focus of this school is on advanced manufacturing and engineering technology. The program is operated through a partnership with BCC and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
ATHS is funded by a $600,000 grant derived from a series of state grants to support partnerships with businesses, colleges and universities, government, and local high schools. The bill establishing the grant program was part of a comprehensive legislative package NJ Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto introduced to expand CTE opportunities throughout the state. It received enthusiastic support from Senators and Assembly members of both parties and was signed by Governor Christie. The grants, were awarded by the NJ Department of Education, provide start-up funds for new programs that could be launched in available facilities for the 2015-2016 school year.
Business partners of ATHS include Howmedica Osteonics Corp (Stryker Orthopedics), Triangle Manufacturing, Sandvik Coromant, the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey and the Bergen Workforce Investment Board. To read more click HERE
Applied Technology High School’s (ATHS) mission is to be a full-time, four-year high school located on the Bergen Commiunity College with a focus on advanced manufacturing and engineering technology education. As founding students, we can tell you, yes, this is the mission, but our school is a whole lot more. We have experienced more than technology. We’ve been given state-of-the-art computers and robots to work with, but at the same time we are immersed in the literature, history and the studies of US policies in the Middle East. We were also introduced to Mandarin and the Chinese culture through the eyes of a real Chinese college professor. To read the entire review click HERE

Dear Students and Families,
Happy New Year and welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break.
Students who applied for September 2017 admission to Applied Tech High School will be receiving letters in February regarding group interviews. Interviews will be held over three days: March 6, 7, and 9, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on each of those days. The interview is an important part of the admissions process. It gives those of us on the admissions committee a chance to speak with each of our applicants and it gives our applicants a chance to tell us something about themselves and why they would like to attend this program. For those who were unable to attend one of Open Houses, it will be a chance to visit the college campus and see some of the facilities that are available to our students.
It’s always exciting to meet each new group of Bergen Tech applicants. Students who apply to this program, as well as to our other campuses, are bright, personable, and creative individuals. It has been my pleasure to have greeted and then become acquainted with the freshman and sophomore students who currently attend Applied Tech. I look forward to greeting all of our applicants when they visit us in February.
