On November 30, 2016, sophomore students from Applied Technology High School had the opportunity to travel to the Bergen County Emergency Medical Services Training Center as part of their CPR/First Aid Health Class.
Mr. Michael Tarantino and his staff introduced the students to the EMS Center’s state-of-theart teaching aids as they demonstrated first aid and trauma care techniques. They then guided
the class in administering CPR, taking blood pressure readings, using an automated chest compression system, providing first aid for trauma victims, applying bandages and tourniquets, and exerting the appropriate amount of pressure on serious wounds.
This two-hour session afforded students the chance to connect their academic studies with hands-on, real-world applications.
