Ms. Christmas joined BCTS as an Educational Broker in the Displaced Homemaker/Teen Parents program in January 1990.  As an Educational Broker, Ms. Christmas assisted clients who separated from their spouse. She provided reemployment classes while assisting the clients in obtaining employment. In 2003, Ms. Christmas was promoted to Program Coordinator of the Displaced Homemaker program and worked with the Displaced Homemaker staff to ensure high quality services were provided to clients seeking assistance in retraining and obtaining employment.

In December 2010, Ms. Christmas accepted the position as a Broker Counselor, in the Temporary Assistance Needy Families program at the Bergen County One Stop Career Center. As a Broker Counselor Ms. Christmas conducted training classes for individuals receiving TANF benefits. Ms. Christmas case managed clients who were participating in a Community Work Experience activity and assisted clients seeking educational opportunities as well as obtaining employment.

We thank Ms. Christmas for the many years of service she provided to BTCS and the citizens of Bergen County. The BCTS Board of Education and administration wish Darlene the best of health, happiness and a relaxing future as she begins her new journey.
