In January, Senior Franchesca Macalintal presented a lesson to juniors in AP USH—examining poetry of the World War II era.  Franchesca guided students to interpret how imagery used by poets conveyed their messages, in works coming from American, Polish and Israeli, Eastern European, Japanese, and British perspectives.  Students gained a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological effects of war due to Franchesca’s knowledge and passion for her studies.  Congratulations, Franchesca!
