Kudos to the Bergen County Academies (BCA) SkillsUSA Chapter for being named First in the Nation!  BCA was awarded first place in the “technical skills” category for the SkillsUSA Models of Excellence (MOE) program, which recognizes superior chapters for their program of work. This is an incredible honor and achievement with more than 18,000 chapters participating nationally.

Congratulations to Sophia Serrao and Anthony Desimini who along with Chef Mary Beth Brace, represented the BCA chapter in the weeklong interviews and presentations including a special award’s dinner and ceremony at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. Additionally, BCA students were finalists in Culinary and Hospitality contests displaying amazing poise, skills, and intellect.

Sophia Serrao and Anthony Desimini won for the National Model of Excellence program and received numerous recognition's and accolades. This is another proud tradition of ACAHA with National recognition -- First in the Nation! 

Mitchell Michaliszyn represented the BCA chapter proudly in the very competitive Culinary Arts Contest and scored in the top third of the nation

Sarah Hwang, Ashleigh Chang, and April Yoo were finalists in the Career Pathways Showcase for their innovative Hospitality project.
