Siemens2Two Bergen County Academies students were named Semifinalists in the 2017 Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology. Katherine Dai of Glen Rock, and Isabella Impalli of Hasbrouck Heights were two of just nineteen New Jersey students to achieve this recognition. These students completed their research in the Bergen County Academies laboratory supervised by Mrs. Donna Leonardi.

The competition, launched by the Siemens Foundation in 1999, was established to increase access to higher education for students who are gifted in STEM and is based on the culture of innovation, research and educational support that is the hallmark of Siemens. Across the nation over 1860 student projects were submitted this year for consideration. This competition seeks to recognize and build a strong pipeline for the nation’s most promising scientists, engineers and mathematicians.

Congratulations to these students and their mentor on this outstanding accomplishment.
