The New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association Educational Foundation conducted its 12th Annual ProStart Hospitality Management Competition on Tuesday with numerous high schools participating from around the state. The BCA ACAHA team took home 1st Place and won scholarship awards in excess of $10,000.00 each, renewable for 4 years!

The students prepared a business model and plan for a restaurant concept complete with logo, design lay-out, equipment needs based on their menu & facilities, costing plans, a detailed marketing plan, SWOT analysis, and most importantly, a viable business concept. BCA students had to "pitch" their business concept and plan to a panel of industry professional/judges in a trade show atmosphere. They also had to create a project binder with the above mentioned elements included. During the critical thinking portion they performed magnificently and the judges thought they showed maturity and poise beyond their years.

They now qualify to represent New Jersey at the National Restaurant Association's ProStart Competition in Providence, Rhode Island on April 27th - 30th.
