Congratulations to this year's Bergen County Academies (BCA) medalists at the New Jersey SkillsUSA Championships. The BCA students displayed amazing poise and determination during the competition. Everyone competed and behaved in an exemplary manner - BCA couldn't be more proud of them!

BCA students received a total of 19 medals! Three students qualified for National Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. For the third year in a row, the BCA SkillsUSA Chapter was recognized on stage as a Chapter of Distinction - a Model of Excellence at the Gold level.   

The following students received medals:

Gold (3) 

  • • Promotional Bulletin Board (3) - Phoebe Om, Olivia Krivitsky, Gabriela Rosenblum

Silver (8)

  • • American Spirit (3) – Lauren Fisher, Maya Rutkowski and Rachel Holliday
  • • Community Service (3) - Christine Choi, Angela Hahn, Rosa Kim
  • • Culinary Arts (1) - Mitchell Michaliszyn
  • • Extemporaneous Speaking (1) - Ethan Shan

Bronze (8)

  • • Opening & Closing Ceremonies (7) - Anthony Desimini, Sophia Serraoi, Gianna Valente, Rocio Hernandez, Allison Jaworski, Noah Chun, KJ Wang
  • • Prepared Speech (1) - Remy Goldberg

In addition, Maya Rutkowski and Gabriela Rosenblum were instrumental with our Chapter of Distinction award.

Sophia Serrao represented BCA as NJ SkillsUSA State Officers and did an outstanding job facilitating the event.
