AACKudos to the Bergen County Academies NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing 2019-2020 winners, Maya De Los Santos and Audrey Kim.  Maya, Class of 2020, received the National Award Winner and Audrey, Class of 2021, received the National Honorable Mention.  Two more names of girls who received the National Honorable Mention Award are Hailey Shewprasad, Class of 2020, Jueun Kwon, Class of 2020

Both young ladies will be honored on March 6 at the Regional Affiliate Award event, with an engraved award for the student and for the school, scholarship and internship opportunities, automatic induction into the AIC Community—a national network of peers supported by professionals and volunteers, and various prizes, such as computing resources, gadgets, swag, and more. Additionally, Maya will receive cash and a trip to the National Award for AIC Celebration in March, 2020, hosted by Bank of America.

The award recipients are selected by NCWIT based on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education.
